Description
This 2-in-1 CD of Rick Foster's previous releases Sacred Classic Guitar and Inspirational Guitar at Its Best contains solo fingersyle guitar arrangements played on the classical guitar. These guitar arrangements of sacred muisc range from classical to gospel and from favorite hymns to contemporary praise. To these albums of primarily classical guitar solos, Rick has added two guitar duets and several pieces for guitar and other instruments. In the companion book of arrangements each piece is written out in TAB and notation exactly as played on the album. Both parts of the two duets are included, but the three instrumental accompaniments are not included.

Inspirational Guitar at Its Best
"Jesus said, 'Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place...' and Rick Foster's music can be
that quiet place. For me it was high in the Sierras under a canopy of stars while listening to the
delightful strains of his classical guitar. His music, tranquil and peaceful, is that quiet
place."

"Album three from virtuoso instrumentalist Rick Foster is his best yet. From the album jacket to the superb performance, Inspirational Guitar at Its Best is appropriately titled. There's a delightful assortment of songs. The back cover quotes Philippians 4:8, '. . . Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things,'NIV. With that as the objective, this record is right on the mark. It certainly is conducive to quiet meditations."

"Quiet, peaceful, tranquil are mere words to describe the beauty of Inspirational Guitar at Its Best, Rick Foster's album of classical guitar. Something old, something new is the blend of the songs he has chosen. You will find some of your favorite hymns. Orchestral arrangements done by Bruce Vandervalk add to rather than detract from the beauty of the whole album."

Sacred Classic Guitar
"This month I chose an album of two contrasts - contrasts
from what you usually hear and contrasts within. This is a recording that I recommend. It is
excellent guitar and excellent listening. A change from the heavy orchestrations and choral sound we
hear so often. It is genuine nice listening, mostly very relaxing favorites such as 'O Sacred Head
Now Wounded' or 'The Lord's Prayer,' then there is the classic 'Trumpet Tune and Air,' but WAIT,
there's side 2 where he goes gospel in a laid back way with such tunes as 'There is a Balm in
Gilead' and 'What a Friend We Have in Jesus.' Fine listening."
